The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has been given responsibility for administering the Juvenile Accountability Block Grants (JABG) program. OJJDP has designated the Justice Research and Statistics Association (JRSA) to calculate local allocation amounts and provide technical assistance to the states.

Using available crime and expenditure data, JRSA calculates the allocation amounts for all localities that have reported crime and/or criminal justice expenditures.
