CONVERSION OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS INTO RESEARCH DATABASES
JRSA worked with NORC to develop databases from criminal history records that can be used by the Bureau of Justice Statistics to conduct ongoing recidivism studies. The initial database will contain criminal history records from a sample of inmates released from prisons in 32 states in 2005. JRSA worked with the state Statistical Analysis Centers to identify offense coding schemes and analytical strategies for their criminal history records.
